THE HISTORY
Welcome to the Front Porch Tea Room located in the quaint Town of Hallam, nestled among the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. Come visit our Victorian home atop a hill in the center of town.
Built in 1869 by the sheriff of York County, Samuel Ruby, it is a 2 1/2 story log home with lots of charm and history. Surrounded by large old trees and flower gardens with an expansive front porch, we invite you to step back in time and leave the hustle and bustle of the modern world behind.
We are a Tea Room where one can take a step back to an era where manners and civility were common. Inside this Victorian Tea Room you will feel pampered as you relax in an atmosphere of elegance. This is one place where you are never rushed. Each table is covered in linens and lace then set properly with antique dishes, linen napkins, and crystal goblets.
There are over 30 high quality loose leaf teas to choose from while enjoying a traditional High Tea. Our High Tea consists of our famous House Salad with Poppy Seed dressing, a sweet and savory scone served with our mock Devonshire Clotted Cream, jam, and a lemon curd, followed by your choice of two different soups, three different finger sandwiches, and a choice of one of our desserts.
